Our beautiful Claudia Griselda Johns, of Houston, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ, on September 1st, 2024.
Claudia was born on June 18th, 1989, in Cuernavaca, Morelos, to Mr. Victor Maldonado and Mrs. Claudia
Campos de Maldonado. She was a loving older sister to Laura and Alejandra. The Maldonado family later
moved to the United States, where Claudia quickly became a certified Texan, and later proudly became a
US citizen. Claudia excelled in school, participating in ROTC, and quickly moved up working in the
service industry. She was a beloved branch manager, who excelled as a leader and organizer- all her
customers, team mates and employees loved her.
In 2013, Claudia and Benji were married and they welcomed three beautiful children in the coming years.
Claudia was an amazing mom and made her house a home. She homeschooled the kids and quickly
became an exemplary teacher—her amazing efforts are easily seen in her wonderful kids. The kids
consistently praise her— “Mommy showed me this,” “Mommy taught me this,’” or “Mommy made me
this.”’
More than anything in life, she loved her family, and was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister,
daughter in law, sister in law, cousin, Tia, and friend. Claudia loved hosting and taking care of
people—her smile and laugh made everyone feel welcome, loved, and happy. Claudia was an
accomplished and talented baker; a two-stepping enthusiast and lover of karaoke—she was the life of
every party. You could always count on Claudia to start the party, help cook / clean-up, eat crawfish, and
rock babies to sleep.
Claudia was preceded in death by her dear baby boy, Victor Van, and is survived by her husband,
Benjamin Roy, their three children, Benjamin Roy ll, Elizabeth Sophia, Alexander Luther, and a multitude
of loving family. No words can express the loss that this is to our families, but we give thanks to the Lord
for His promise to give eternal life to all those who have trusted in Jesus Christ as their Savior. We look
forward to being reunited with our dear Claudia in the presence of our Lord.
