be adored! Lose my soul, if I don’t love you!
Othello, Act III
And when I don’t love you, the universe becomes chaos!
We have all suffered the feeling of frustration at what in our eyes is an act of injustice and touches us so deeply because in general we were educated by the sense of justice as a convention and a human search aimed at creating a society with consequences for that which breaks the balance of coexistence. However, when the visceral engine comes from hatred or resentment, we are talking about that thirst that has driven great tragedies throughout the history of humanity: revenge.
Othello was an outstanding general of the city of Venice, victorious in many battles and preferred by the prince. He was given the title of governor of Cyprus and was able to marry the valued daughter of a rich Venetian named Desdemona, she was in love and the marriage was happy for a few years.
An envious subordinate named Iago wanted to destroy Othello’s good luck and decided to create an intrigue to poison the governor’s mind and make him believe that his wife was cheating on him; To this fact is added that Othello was an insecure man, discriminated against perhaps, for having dark skin.
Iago’s strategy was to make Othello very jealous of his wife, for her alleged infidelity. Othello believed these intrigues, his character became bitter, he became angry, he did not sleep well, he was always agitated, nervous, he neglected his work and shortly after he was relieved of his post. Obfuscated by jealousy, he decided to take revenge and murdered his wife for being unfaithful. Shortly after he found out that it was all an intrigue and he also took his own life.
Evangelina Elizondo, was a movie star in Mexico. She was married to José Luis Paganoni, who, at the same time, had relationships with several women. One day Evangelina demanded his dissolution and asked for a divorce, then José Luis refused and a legal conflict began that would last months to end; In addition, the man was jealous, alcoholic and angry.
At that time, Evangelina began a play alongside another famous actor named Ramón Gay. It is said that José Luis always went to the theater, with the purpose of seeking a reconciliation with Evangelina, who always rejected him. One night, Evangelina and Ramón went out to dinner after the play, by then, they had started a romance. Later they stayed talking for a while in the car when they heard a knock on the window; it was José Luis, furious, he insulted the couple, he wanted revenge; Ramón then got out of the car and the argument turned into a fist fight between the two men, when José Luis pulled out a pistol and fired a deadly shot at Ramón’s chest.
During the funeral of Ramón Gay, they say that another movie star cried profusely for the death of his love and it was the actor Arturo de Córdova.
In a city in Israel lived Judith, an empowered woman who ran her late husband’s business. That population was prosperous and peaceful until it was threatened with conquest by General Holofernes of Babylon. The day he arrived in town, he met Judith and fell in love with her; The woman took advantage of this situation, visiting the general in his military camp and convincing him that she supported her cause. That night the general invited Judith to spend the night in his tent and she accepted; They had a good time, they drank and when Holofernes fell asleep from too much alcohol, Judith murdered him and cut off his head with her sword.
The next morning the head was hanging at the gates of the city and Judith became a hero, for avenging and saving the Jewish people from the Babylonian invasion.
Through these stories of tragedy, it seems relevant to us to call on the importance of observing mental health. It can be an opportunity to look at the past and repair the damage to which we have been voluntarily or involuntarily exposed; We must address the feelings of pain, anger or sadness that generate rancor and resentment.
If it were the case, pay attention to the use of substances, so as not to avoid what we must solve, the fundamental thing is to recognize and accept the problems and always seek help to live in peace and tranquility. We live in complicated times, we know them, that’s why we remind you that at Del Pueblo Funeral Home we make the most difficult moments easy.
